The Future of ‘Phishing’ Scams

Now that most people are aware of ‘phishing’ scams, I imagine that scammers will try a new tactic: ‘phishing’ emails from loved ones!
Dear Son,
Please provide me with your full name, current address, and bank information. I haven’t been feeling well, and I want to make sure you get your inheritance money on time.

Food for Thought

I want to remind people listening tonight that a plan is not a litany of complaints, and a plan is not to lay out programs that you can’t pay for.
President George W. Bush

Take that Senator Kerry!

Noooooooooo!

It seems that the Federal Marriage Amendment is going to die in the Senate. I would really hate to see that happen - it would be a great victory for those who support homosexual unions. Courts across the nation will take it as a signal that laws allowing homosexual unions will go unopposed. Yikes.
I just [...]

Fahrenheit 9/11

I find it ironic that I’m writing my belated review of Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 on July 4, the day Americans choose to celebrate their independence and their core values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
The irony is that many people consider Michael Moore’s movie to be unpatriotic. They think that by attacking [...]

Food for Thought

They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin
I saw Fahrenheit 9/11 today. If you don’t get the reference, my explanation (and review of the movie) will be forthcoming.

Food for Thought

Food for Thought

There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.
Ayn Rand
Maybe I’ll turn this type [...]

OPCC

Like most Americans, I’m getting tired of the constant rise in gas prices, so I’ve come up with a solution: we need to form an Organization of Petroleum Consuming Countries (OPCC).
Think about it for a second - OPEC members are as dependent on foreign goods as we are dependent upon their oil.
OPCC would instruct [...]

GOP Census

I’m not exactly sure how the RNC obtained my address or figured out that I was a Republican, but I just received a copy of the GOP Census. According to the enclosed letter, the answers I provide to the census “will be used to develop a BLUEPRINT for the Republican Party for the next 10 [...]

Love?

According to a post on Craigslist’s Missed Connections, a guy has spent a third of his life following a girl around the world.
I don’t know whether to call this guy a helpless romantic or a total loser, but I have to admit that his dedication is impressive. I know some guys who have spent hours [...]
