Groceries, Delivered
I’m always hungry. I satisfy my hunger only to find myself feeling hungry again an hour later. No, I’m not obese; I’m just a student with a fast metabolism. In a perfect world, I’d be able to eat at any time of the day. Since it’s not a perfect world and I’m a student trapped at UC Berkeley, where the dining commons are only open for a few hours a day, I usually go hungry.
Now that Albertson’s delivers groceries in the Bay Area, I no longer have to go hungry. For a flat $9.95 fee, I can have anything from the supermarket delivered to my doorstep in 24 hours - making it relatively painless to keep my room stocked with food. I gave their website a shot this weekend, ordering some dry foods and deli meats, and I got the goods this afternoon. The delivery guy was courteous, albeit late (it was raining, so I don’t blame him), and everything I ordered was in great condition. Overall, I’m highly pleased with the service and would recommend it to anyone.
Safeway also does delivery, but their website was horribly designed, and I gave up using it within minutes. Somebody needs to slap their webmaster with a usability clue stick.

Albertsons just closed a bunch of stores in the Bay Area, so that might be why they don’t deliver anymore. You could try Safeway. Their website has really improved lately.
